Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Office Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring efficient shipping and receiving operations within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, order fulfillment, and equipment operation such as forklifts and reach trucks. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic e-commerce and warehouse distribution setting, supporting seamless order processing and inventory management.
Duties
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading shipments
- Manage order picking, packing, and preparing shipments for dispatch
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, and AS400 for inventory tracking and order processing
- Support order fulfillment activities to ensure timely delivery of products
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory movements
- Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit
- Assist with warehouse organization and stock replenishment tasks
- Support warehouse distribution operations by coordinating with various departments to meet shipping deadlines
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles
- Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment (asset)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP software, AS400 is highly desirable
- Experience with order picking, order fulfillment, load & unload procedures in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in e-commerce or warehouse distribution is a plus
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as required
