Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a cook in a special care home. The candidate will cook for approximately 50 residents This role involves providing exceptional food service, preparing meals, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food handling, cooking, and restaurant operations, with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper hygiene and sanitation protocols
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, plating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
- Follow all food safety regulations and restaurant policies to ensure compliance
- Support team members in daily operations to ensure smooth service flow
- Restock supplies as needed and assist with inventory management
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Strong serving skills with excellent customer service abilities
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain high hygiene standards
- Experience with food handling and meal preparation in the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if required
- A positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and a passion for delivering quality food service
Pay: $16.00-$18.50 per hour
