About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing law firm, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Lawyer to join its litigation practice in Burlington. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer who is eager to build a career in commercial litigation while working closely with experienced litigators on a wide range of complex matters.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations.
Draft pleadings, affidavits, factums, motions, and other litigation documents.
Assist with all phases of the litigation process, including discoveries, motion practice, trial preparation, and hearings.
Develop case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and other litigation-related matters, as appropriate.
Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely case updates.
Ensure all work is completed accurately and within applicable deadlines.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in Ontario and in good standing.
1-3 years of litigation experience preferred.
Experience drafting litigation documents, including affidavits, factums, pleadings, and motions.
Exposure to examinations for discovery and other stages of the litigation process.
Strong legal research, analytical, and written advocacy skills.
Demonstrated interest in commercial litigation; a business or commerce background is considered an asset.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
