Pay Range:
- $21.86 – $24.70 per hour (Long-Term Care)

Position Summary
As a Cook, you will prepare and serve high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for residents and guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
You will ensure meals meet dietary needs and preferences while contributing to a positive dining experience in a warm and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
- Prepare meals following approved recipes, ensuring proper portioning, temperature, and presentation
- Manage food preparation for special events and catering as required
- Ensure meals meet residents’ dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences
Dietary & Record Management
- Review and follow therapeutic diets, allergies, and dietary restrictions
- Maintain accurate records including menus, food orders, delivery receipts, and temperature logs
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and IPAC protocols
- Support smooth kitchen operations through teamwork and communication
Team & Communication
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
- Participate in in-services, training, and ongoing education opportunities
- Provide friendly, professional service to residents, families, and guests
Qualifications
- Valid Safe Food Handlers certificate required
- Chef training or Culinary Management diploma preferred (meeting Ministry standards)
- Minimum two years of cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred
- Experience with therapeutic diets and senior nutrition is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
