Job Summary
OXE Inc. is seeking a dependable Roofing Labourer to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 roofing season
This role involves assisting with demolition of the existing shingles , preparation of the roof deck, and assisting the leads shinglers during the install of the new roof.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and above all, be a reliable asset for the team
Duties
- Assist with demolition of the old roof, and install of the new shingle roofing system
- Use hand tools such as shingle rippers, hammer tackers, utility knives, etc.
- Carry and position roofing materials, including shingles, plywood, and flashing
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely across job sites
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in roofing and construction
- Prior construction or handyman experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques relevant to roofing projects
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with caulking for weatherproofing applications
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or climbing ladders
- Familiarity with safety procedures on construction sites
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions effectively
