Position Summary
Under the direction of the Head Coach Martlet Soccer, the Assistant Coach / Technical Specialist Martlets Soccer will support the Head Coach in the delivery of a high-performance women’s soccer program within McGill Athletics & Recreation. This role will contribute to the daily training environment, competition preparation, and administrative operations, with a strong emphasis on student-athlete development, performance analysis, and alignment with RSEQ/U SPORTS and McGill standards of excellence.
Primary Duties:

Assist in the planning and delivery of a comprehensive, high-performance training program for McGill Martlets Women’s Soccer.

Lead and support video analysis operations, including post-match breakdowns, individual athlete feedback, and opposition scouting reports (pre-scouts) within the RSEQ/U SPORTS context.

Assist in analyzing match and training data to identify team and individual performance trends

Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights for coaching staff.

Record match statistics and maintain performance tracking systems during competitions.

Assist in the implementation of tactical game plans and practice objectives in collaboration with the coaching staff.

Oversee the preparation, organization, and distribution of training and match equipment, ensuring professional standards consistent with varsity sport.

Support team operations on game days, including ensuring bench assignments, communication, and logistics.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
-
NCCP Level II Certification (or equivalent recognized coaching certification) required

Safe Sport and CCES anti-doping certification required.

Strong knowledge of women’s soccer at the U SPORTS / RSEQ or equivalent high-performance level preferred

Demonstrated coaching experience in competitive or elite women’s soccer, preferably at the university, provincial, or national level required

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and video breakdown capabilities required

Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills preferred

Ability to work effectively within a student focused and, academically intensive environment preferred

Bilingual in French and English (verbal and written) required
