Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef specializing in Nikkei cuisine and Japanese culinary traditions to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive restaurant management experience, exceptional food preparation skills, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of authentic and high-quality dishes, and maintaining an efficient, clean, and safe work environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, fostering a collaborative and professional environment
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring authentic Nikkei and Japanese dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining food quality standards
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Develop new menu items that highlight traditional Japanese flavors with a modern twist, aligning with culinary trends and customer preferences
- Train staff on cooking techniques, presentation standards, and service protocols to ensure consistency and excellence
- Coordinate with front-of-house team to ensure smooth serving operations and exceptional guest experiences
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols at all times
- Maintain a positive leadership presence in the kitchen, motivating staff to achieve operational goals
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably with a focus on Japanese or Asian cuisine
- Extensive food preparation and cooking expertise in Nikkei cuisine or Japanese culinary techniques
- Strong background in restaurant management, team management, and food industry standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and service teams seamlessly
- Previous restaurant experience in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable
- Passion for authentic Japanese cuisine combined with creativity in menu development

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
