SPS is recruiting for a Millwright Apprentice – 3rd / 4th year to join our Maintenance Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Millwright Apprentice will support both the Production and Maintenance departments by responding to line issues, completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting machinery, and supporting equipment reliability. This role is well suited for someone who is safety-conscious, a strong team player, self-motivated, positive, and eager to learn.
- Respond to production line maintenance needs and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
- Repair, inspect, and troubleshoot machinery, equipment, and facility-related issues as required.
- Support troubleshooting and skill development in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and productivity standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and provide recommendations related to safety, quality, productivity, and customer feedback.
HOURS OF WORK:
Weekend 12 hour Shift with 1 On call day
Sat, Sun & Mon 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
On Call day to be determined by Manager on a week by week basis
Requirements:
At a minimum, candidates must have successfully completed their Level 2 and/or must be enrolled and/or eligible for their upcoming Level 3 of the Millwright 433a Apprenticeship Program.
3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
· Welding experience, including stick and MIG welding, and fabrication experience are preferred.
· Experience in using a variety of hand and power tools
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a close team environment.
· Positive attitude with the ability to self-direct.
· Strong time management and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
· Ability to collaborate with team members and support co-workers as needed.
Asset Skills:
· Knowledge of PLCs and low-voltage electrical systems is considered an asset.
· Strong organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
· Light machining experience, including use of a lathe, milling machine, or similar equipment, is an asset.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office is considered an asset.
· Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Experience with any CMMS Programs (Fiix, SAP, eMaint, MP2) an asset
