Property Maintenance & Landscaping Technician - CHESTER, NS
We are currently seeking a reliable, hardworking, and versatile individual to join our company as a Property Maintenance & Landscaping Technician. The successful applicant must be capable of handling a wide range of outdoor maintenance, property care, and general labor tasks throughout all seasons.
Responsibilities Include:
Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance
- Lawn mowing and edging
- Operation of ride-on mowers, tractors, lawn edgers, whipper snippers, and leaf blowers
- Chainsaw operation and basic tree work
- Maintenance and care of landscaping equipment
- Flower bed maintenance and weed control
- Tree and shrub pruning
- Spring and fall property clean-ups
- Working safely on steep slopes and uneven terrain
Seasonal Property Services
- Winterizing and spring opening of patio furniture, swimming pools, and hot tubs
- Water testing and monitoring throughout the summer season
- Snow plowing and snow removal
- Operation of snow plow and sand spreaders
- Shovelling walkways, driveways, parking lots, and parkways
- Spring sweeping and sand removal from driveways and parking areas
General Property Maintenance
- Wall preparation and painting
- Replacing mosquito screens
- Changing batteries in alarms and replacing door locks
- General labor and occasional furniture moving
- Basic carpentry skills
Experience Required
The following experience would be considered strong assets:
- Landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Pool and hot tub maintenance and water testing
- Snow plow, tractor, or heavy equipment operation
- Basic carpentry, painting, and general property repair
Additional Requirements
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Comfortable moving from job to job on short notice
- Ability to keep track of ongoing and upcoming work
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must own and regularly use a cell phone for job-related communication and scheduling
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently
