Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in supporting pharmacists and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by restocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and organizing medication supplies
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions, offering medication instructions, and addressing concerns under supervision
- Process prescriptions using pharmacy software systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Maintain detailed records of medication transactions and patient interactions
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing patient records
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to regulatory guidelines related to medication handling and storage
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of medications and optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly desirable
- Experience as a pharmacy technician or in patient care roles is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
- Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Certification or training related to pharmacy assistance or technician roles is a plus
