Position Overview
Switch It Up is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Electrician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their electrical career while gaining hands-on experience in both residential and commercial projects. You will work alongside experienced Journeyman Electricians while learning industry best practices and electrical standards. Fire alarm experience or interest is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems
- Support residential and commercial electrical installations
- Pull wire, install conduit, outlets, lighting, and electrical components
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues
- Read and interpret basic electrical drawings and layouts
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow all safety procedures and electrical code requirements
- Assist with fire alarm system installations and maintenance when required
Qualifications
- Registered Electrical Apprentice (any year considered)
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Interest or experience in fire alarm systems is an asset
