Job Summary
The IT Systems Administrator, under the direction of the Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SSRE), is responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of the organization’s business technology platforms. The role serves as the primary on-site technology resource for employees, providing timely technical assistance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating escalation where required. With a strong understanding of the organization’s core technology stack, the IT Systems Administrator ensures these platforms are configured and used effectively. They understand how platform changes affect users, workflows, security, data, and connected systems and provide practical recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the technology environment. The IT Systems Administrator works closely with the DevOps team, business leaders, employees, vendors, and other stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into platform configurations, workflows, automations, integrations, and other technology solutions. The role is an active contributor to development and continuous-improvement projects and is responsible for customizing applications to better support the teams that use them. While the position may assist with infrastructure-related activities when required, its primary focus is the effective administration, improvement, adoption, and support of the organization’s software platforms and end-user technology. The IT Systems Administrator must possess a college diploma or certificate and have 2-5 years of prior related experience.
What You Have

College diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in information technology, systems administration, computer science, business systems, or a related field.

Two to five years of related experience in systems administration, application administration, SaaS platform support, or a comparable technology role.

Practical experience administering or supporting Microsoft 365 and several of the following platforms: Zendesk, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID, Jira, and Microsoft Defender.

Experience configuring or customizing applications, including workflows, permissions, forms, notifications, integrations, or reports.

Strong understanding of how changes to one system may affect users, security, data, processes, and connected applications.

Experience providing direct, customer-focused technical support in an office environment.

Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into practical system or workflow improvements.

Familiarity with scripting, automation, APIs, or development technologies such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, HTML, Bash, or Microsoft Power Automate is considered an asset.

Familiarity with Windows environments, device management, identity and access management, networking concepts, and cloud technologies.

Experience supporting technology projects through planning, configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, and user adoption.

Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot issues, research solutions, and learn unfamiliar technologies.

Experience creating and maintaining clear technical and user-facing documentation.

Understanding of technology security, privacy, change management, and risk-mitigation practices.

Relevant certification such as ITIL, AZ104, CompTIA A+ or MS-900 would be a strong asset
