Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpet Installer to join our flooring team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing glue down and stretch carpet over pad, ensuring precise and high-quality workmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with hand tools including carpet kicker & power stretcher.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare spaces for flooring installation according to project specifications
- Remove old flooring materials safely and efficiently
- Install carpet, using appropriate techniques and tools
- Use hand tools such as cutters, trowels, knee kickers, and power tools to complete installations
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to flooring projects, including subfloor preparation and minor repairs
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in flooring installation, including stairs and stringers
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in flooring projects
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks in various conditions
Experience with Upholstery would be considered an asset
