Our client is looking for a Corporate Tax Accountant to join their team in Edmonton , Alberta on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills who enjoys reconciliations, financial reporting, fixed assets, and month-end activities in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Complete bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding discrepancies.
Reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple entities.
Maintain fixed asset records and support asset capitalization activities.
Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations, reporting, and supporting schedules.
Analyze G& A expenses and prepare financial reporting support.
Respond to operational accounting inquiries related to inventory and fixed assets.
Document accounting processes and support continuous process improvements.
Collaborate with senior accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Requirements:
Accounting degree or relevant post-secondary education in accounting or finance.
5+ years of accounting experience, including reconciliations, month-end, and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, and expense analysis.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions.
Experience with Power BI and Power Query.
Experience with Dynamics 365, Yardi Voyager, or similar accounting/property management systems is an asset.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
Detail-oriented with a process improvement mindset.
