T & A Rock Works Inc. has been established since 1979 and is based out of Kelowna, BC. T & A specializes in rock drilling, controlled blasting, rockfall mitigation, shotcrete & shoring as well as non-explosive rock removal.
The company is seeking a Diesel Mechanic/Yard Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Yard and Shop area reporting directly to the Mechanical & Drilling Supervisors.
- Assist HD Mechanic with equipment maintenance and repairs (1 ton trucks, trailers, compressors, specialty drilling equipment, line pumps, etc.)
- Organize and clean tools, machinery, and the shop/yard area
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Deliver tools, parts, or supplies to job sites as needed
- Perform general labor tasks to support field crews
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow company safety procedures at all times
- Sharpen rock drill bits
Requirements:
- 5 years experience with mechanical work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliable transportation to and from the yard location
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required (Class 1 or 3 an asset)
- Forklift or skid steer experience
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to travel or assist in the field if required
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required
