Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to join our team. This role involves transforming residential, commercial, and industrial spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and restoration, with the ability to read schematics and blueprints, operate various hand and power tools, and deliver high-quality results. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment on residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications.
- Perform restoration work on existing surfaces, including stripping old paint and refinishing surfaces to restore their appearance.
- Use rigging techniques to access high or hard-to-reach areas safely.
- Operate hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, brushes, rollers, and caulking guns as well as power tools like drills and sanders.
- Execute carpentry tasks related to framing or minor repairs as needed for project completion.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly while adhering to safety standards.
- Follow safety protocols at all times when working with industrial equipment or in hazardous environments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting.
- Knowledge of restoration techniques and ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to painting and carpentry tasks.
- Strong understanding of caulking procedures and surface preparation methods.
- Ability to work efficiently with good time management skills while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members effectively.
- Experience with rigging techniques for elevated work areas is a plus.
- Construction experience is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Valid driver’s license is advantageous for project mobility.
