Position: Full-Time Property Maintenance & Lumberyard Support Worker
We are looking for a reliable, versatile, and hardworking individual to join our team in a split-role position. You will primarily support our property management company with maintenance work across our rental portfolio, and when property work is lighter, you will assist in our hardware stores / lumberyards at Fines HHBC.
This is a perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, outdoor physical work, and operating equipment.
What You’ll Do:
Property Maintenance (Primary Role):
- Lawn care, grass cutting, landscaping, and grounds maintenance
- Snow removal and winter maintenance (using snow equipment and plows; including on call times)
- General repairs, painting, minor plumbing/electrical fixes, and handyman work
- Property inspections and upkeep
- Operate skid steers, tractors, and other heavy equipment
- Cleaning of interior and exterior of rental units after construction, preparing for move-ins and long term maintenance
- Communication with tenants and organizing deficiency/issue repairs
- Construction tasks as required in the future with new properties we build.
Lumberyard / Hardware Store Support (Secondary Role):
- Assist in the lumberyard when property workload is lighter
- Operate forklifts and loaders to move lumber and building materials
- Help customers load materials and provide excellent service
- General yard labour, organizing stock, and keeping the yard clean
- Drywall carrying and other physical tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with property maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, or construction is a strong asset
- Ability to safely operate skid steers, snow removal equipment, forklifts, and similar machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude and handyman skills
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in all weather conditions
- Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious
- Positive attitude and good customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license (clean abstract preferred) and own transportation
- Previous equipment operation certification is an asset (we can help with training)
