Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Potato Grader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, sorting, and grading potatoes to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations. This role is essential in maintaining product quality, adhering to CFIA regulations, HACCP, and GAP standards, and supporting overall quality assurance processes within our agricultural operation. The Potato Grader will contribute to the efficient processing of potatoes while ensuring safety and quality control throughout the production line.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming potatoes for size, appearance, and quality according to established standards
- Sort potatoes based on size, grade, and defect criteria using mechanical or manual methods
- Record data related to quality inspection results for traceability and quality management purposes
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in accordance with food safety standards
- Support quality assurance initiatives by identifying defective or substandard products
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining high-quality standards
- Participate in ongoing training related to food safety, health and safety, quality control procedures, and equipment operation
Skills
- Knowledge of farming and agricultural practices related to potato cultivation is a plus
- Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and food safety regulations
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for data collection and grading assessments
- Experience in food processing environments with an emphasis on quality assurance and inspection
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies in produce
- Clear verbal and written English skills for required technical documentation and training.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness standards in a food processing setting
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
