The primary responsibilities for our Senior Construction Inspector, Highways and Roads include:

Responsible for providing construction inspection and construction administration on road and highway construction projects

Maintain accurate daily diary entries and completion of contract documentation records

Maintain daily photographic records, and videos as necessary to document contract activities
-
Complete site surveys of completed works for tracking item and material quantities for payment
-
Review and process contractor progress and final payment certificates.

Complete daily inspections in accordance to client requirements and expectations
-
Monitoring construction work is in accordance to contract documents and specifications
-
Monitoring the contractor’s compliance to health and safety, and environmental regulations and legislation

Supervise and implement quality assurance acceptance and inspection of construction works
-
Report to the Project Manager onsite activities, concerns, and non-conformances, and provide recommendations for resolution

Liaise with client representatives, as required
-
Act as client site representative
-
Requires working nights, weekends, and extended shifts
-
Work may be seasonal in nature, as work permits
-
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
-
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Civil Engineering and/or relevant infrastructure construction experience
-
Minimum 5 years of roadway or highway construction experience
-
Previous experience working on municipal or provincial transportation projects would be as assist, but not required
-
Be able to read and interpret construction design drawings
-
Able to work weekends and nights, as needed
-
Ability to work in a team environment and independently in remote locations
-
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
-
Valid license with an acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
