Driver / Equipment Operator – Dumpster Rental Business

Atlantic Disposal Services Ltd. is looking to hire a reliable, hard-working driver/operator to help with our growing dumpster rental business in the Antigonish area.
We are looking for someone who is confident driving a truck and trailer and can back up a truck and trailer with ease. This job includes delivering, picking up, and moving dumpsters for residential, commercial, and construction customers.
Position Duties
- Delivering and picking up dumpsters• Backing trailers into driveways, job sites, and tight areas• Hooking up and securing trailers/dumpsters safely• Dumping loads at the landfill• Completing basic paperwork or load notes• Communicating professionally with customers• Keeping equipment clean and reporting any issues• Helping with general yard/shop duties when needed
Requirements
- Must be honest, dependable, trustworthy, and able to represent the company professionally• Valid driver’s licence• Experience backing up trailers• Clean driver’s abstract or reasonable driving record• Ability to work independently• Good customer service attitude• Reliability and punctuality• Ability to follow safety procedures• Physically able to climb in/out of trucks, hook up trailers, secure loads, and do light labour
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience driving roll-off trucks, hook-lift trucks, or similar equipment• Experience with construction, trucking, landscaping, waste removal, or equipment operation• Class 3 licence or air brake endorsement• Mechanical ability

This is a hands-on position with a local small business. The work changes day to day, so we need someone dependable, careful with equipment, and comfortable dealing with customers.
This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in their work, can think for themselves, and understands the importance of being careful with equipment and customer property.
