Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front of House Team Member to join our dynamic Indian restaurant near Downtown Calgary. This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring smooth service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be attentive to detail, and have a passion for the food industry. Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred; we provide training to help you succeed in this role.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems such as TouchBistro
- Handle cashiering duties including cash handling and processing payments efficiently
- Assist with drinks preparation and ensure proper food handling and sanitation standards are maintained
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including dining space and service stations
- Manage time effectively to serve guests promptly during busy periods
- Support kitchen staff with basic tasks when needed, ensuring smooth restaurant operations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation procedures at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, Indian restaurant, or food industry preferred; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate POS system
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks during peak hours
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Indian kitchen experience or food preparation skills are a plus but not required
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance
Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
