Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Receiver to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and managing incoming shipments to ensure seamless warehouse operations. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, warehouse distribution, and inventory management will help maintain optimal flow and safety within our facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient order fulfillment and support manufacturing and shipping processes.
Duties
- Receive incoming shipments by unloading trucks using forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, or other heavy equipment, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Inspect all received goods for damage, accuracy, and quality, verifying against purchase orders and packing lists
- Accurately document receipt details using warehouse management systems
- Organize and store inventory efficiently in designated warehouse areas
- Prepare items for shipping by packaging, labeling, and staging orders according to company standards
- Collaborate with the shipping & receiving team to load and unload materials swiftly while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate stock levels within the warehouse management system
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, reach trucks, or cranes safely during daily tasks while following all safety guidelines
- Support manufacturing operations by providing necessary materials promptly and ensuring proper handling of heavy or bulky items
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency throughout the warehouse
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience with a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes minimum 2 years
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts and order pickers
- Mechanical knowledge related to loading/unloading machinery and general warehouse equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, including use of warehouse management systems like AS400 or similar platforms
- Experience with heavy lifting, order fulfillment, packaging, and load & unload activities in a fast-paced environment
- Construction or manufacturing experience is a plus for understanding heavy equipment operation and safety protocols
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or cranes safely at all times
- Ability to work individually and with a team
