OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Permanent FULL TIME
The primary goal of our Occupational Therapists is to ensure our patients are receiving high quality, patient-centered care that aligns with our values of Dignity, Service, Excellence and Integrity. The Occupational Therapist works within an interprofessional team to provide therapy services to patients in medically complex and slow-paced rehabilitation programs for adult and geriatric populations.
The Occupational Therapist at SJCCC participates in:
- establishing meaningful patient-centered goals
- assessing patients’ cognitive, psychosocial, and physical abilities
- assessing and adapting environments and activities to maximize function
- recommending and implementing treatments to work toward the patient’s goals
- discharge & transition planning to facilitate maintaining a patient’s best quality of life after leaving the facility.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Supervision of support staff.
- Participating in maintaining a safe and nurturing care environment
- Contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement through participating in: communities of practice, ongoing education, clinical & operational improvement opportunities and supporting the knowledge and skill development of other staff and formal learners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clinical Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- ADP Authorizer certification and experience in geriatric rehab would be considered assets
