Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and experience in grooming dogs of various breeds and sizes. This is a commissioned role (45%) for groomers with several years experience. We are known for our care and patience and treat every dog like it's a member of the family.
Responsibilities
- Groom dogs according to breed standards and customer specifications, including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences and aftercare instructions
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area, including sterilizing tools and equipment after each use
- Handle dogs safely and gently during grooming procedures, ensuring their comfort and well-being
- Assist with managing appointment schedules and ensuring timely service delivery
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger or heavier dogs onto grooming tables or into bathing tubs
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to the management or pet owners
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dog grooming is required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes safely and compassionately, including heavy lifting when needed
- Attention to detail and a passion for animal care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and professionalism
- Reliable, punctual, and available to work Tuesday to Saturday.
