What We Look for in Our Skilled Landscaper: This hands-on role requires a strong work ethic, teamwork, and a passion for outdoor work. Landscape Technicians work closely with Lead Hands and other crew members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standard. They are eager to learn, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and take pride in their craftsmanship. Reports to: Construction Manager/Lead Hands
Works daily with: Team Members
Responsibilities of Skilled Landscaper:
1. On Site Work
- Assist in all aspects of landscape installation of hardscape and softscape elements, at the required pace.
- Operate and maintain construction tools and equipment (quick-cut saw, plate tampers, woodworking tools, skid steers, mini excavators).
- Ensure work is completed according to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Follow site plans and instructions from Lead Hands and Forepersons.
2. Material Handling & Equipment Management
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of trucks, trailers, and work areas.
- Ensure proper care, use, and storage of company tools and equipment.
3. Health & Safety Compliance
- Uphold company policies and health and safety practices while guiding others to do the same.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a safe work environment for yourself and teammates.
- Identify and report hazards, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.
4. Team Collaboration & Productivity
- Work effectively with team members to complete daily tasks and meet project goals.
- Communicate openly with Lead Hands and Forepersons to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Support continuous learning and skill development within the team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications for This Hands-On Role:
- Strong ability to follow instructions and take initiative.
- Passion for working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Experience with landscaping tools and equipment.
- Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- G-2 or higher license with a clean abstract.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous landscape experience required.
Salary: $22.50-25 per hour – based on experience
