Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits to prevent future issues.
- Review medical histories and update patient records accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
- Assist in the application of sealants or other preventive treatments for pediatric and adult patients.
- Support the dental team with assisting during procedures, managing sterilization protocols, and maintaining a clean operatory environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients in multiple languages if bilingual skills are available, ensuring clear understanding of treatment plans.
Requirements
- Valid licence as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced dental office environment with strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures.
- Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse patient populations.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve our diverse patient community.
