We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused AZ Shunter Driver to join our team immediately.
Position: Shunter
Shift Starting time: 2:00 AM
Days: Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $24 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate AZ-class vehicles and perform trailer shunting safely and efficiently
- Move trailers within the yard and position equipment at loading docks
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Ensure trailers and loads are secured and handled according to safety regulations
- Maintain accurate logbooks, inspection reports, and related documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and team members
- Follow all company policies, MTO regulations, and safety procedures
- Report equipment issues, damages, or delays promptly
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment and equipment
Job Requirements:
- Valid AZ Driver’s License
- Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract
- Minimum 1 year of AZ driving/shunting experience
- Knowledge of Ontario transportation and safety regulations
- Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions
- Strong attention to safety and professionalism
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Physically capable of performing duties such as coupling/uncoupling and inspections
- Punctual and dependable for early morning shifts
