Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure that safety systems are properly configured, compliant with codes, and fully operational to protect lives and property.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Emergency lighting systems to ensure reliable operation.
- Perform system upgrades, modifications, and replacements as required.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, Ontario Fire Code, and all applicable regulations.
- Complete service reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
- Communicate with clients regarding system operation, maintenance, and recommended improvements.
- Respond to emergency service calls and resolve system issues promptly.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain high-quality workmanship.
- Prepare basic estimates for installations and repair work.
- Overtime work as required.
- Daily travel required to jobsite.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience installing and servicing commercial fire alarm systems.
- CFAA certification required
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and Ontario Fire Code.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Experience installing and routing electrical wiring in accordance with electrical codes and schematic diagrams
- Experience with Mircom, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, or similar fire alarm systems.
- Valid G driver's licence with a clean driving record.
Pay: $35 per hour minimum, based on experience.
