Job Summary
Under the direction of the PAHS Operations Manager and the Pikangikum Education Authority (PEA), the Multipurpose Worker provides a variety of operational, logistical, maintenance, transportation, and client-support services that contribute to the effective delivery of allied health services within the Pikangikum Allied Health Services (PAHS) Program while the janitorial position ensures that the premises are clean and safe for all employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- To work flexible hours when required to do so. This is a full-time position but will be re-evaluated during the probationary period.
- To pick up and drop off individuals when needed.
- To handle all mail/package reception to the office and distribution.
- To pick up and drop off freight when needed. To pick up office supplies when required.
- To assist the BBI Manager in their role when planning and hosting events within the event space section of the PAHS building.
- Any other duties that are assigned by the Pikangikum Allied Health Services Operations Manager.
- Providing comprehensive janitorial services for the PAHS building located in Winnipeg. These services will include but are not limited to the following services: cleaning the front entrance, all office spaces, bathrooms, board room, kitchen area, reception area, printer/supply room, hallways, event centre, and laundry area.
Qualifications
- To be dependable, responsible and a team player.
- Ability to work positively with other staff members.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Additional training in custodial services, building maintenance, workplace safety, or WHMIS is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or building maintenance work preferred.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums is an asset.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
- Familiarity with basic building systems, including heating, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, is an asset.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify maintenance concerns and report them promptly.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic record-keeping and inventory management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Professional and respectful when interacting with staff, students, visitors, and community members.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist with additional duties as required.

- Ability to work flexible/modified hours, including evenings or weekends when required.
- Ability to respond to emergency cleaning or maintenance situations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace.
- Must also possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
Pay: $49,421.00-$71,920.00 per year
