RIMAP Hospitality Services is an innovative Montreal-based hotel management company founded in 2007. Recognized as one of the leading hotel operators in Montreal, RIMAP manages several internationally branded properties under Marriott, Hilton, and IHG, while continuing to expand, including in downtown Ottawa.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations related to the hotel’s facilities, buildings, and equipment at the AC Marriott Montreal. This role ensures compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards while optimizing departmental operational and financial performance.
The Director plays a key role in strategic maintenance planning, team leadership, and the implementation of preventive maintenance and energy efficiency programs.
Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team (recruitment, training, performance management, engagement).
Plan, organize, and oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and ensure deadlines are met.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and brand standards.
Oversee capital projects, renovations, and property improvements.
Conduct regular building inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
Maintain a safe environment for guests, employees, and partners.
Manage external vendors and service contracts.
Participate in daily operational meetings and the Manager on Duty (MOD) program.
Ensure proper inventory and resource management.
Respond promptly to emergencies and critical situations.
Degree in building mechanics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in maintenance or engineering, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment.
Technical knowledge in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant systems.
Experience in hotel opening or pre-opening is an asset.
