SVRS provides residential services and treatment for dependent and semi-dependent male and female persons with developmental disabilities and special needs, who present with a wide range of functioning levels, emotional and behavioural challenges.

About the position:
A day program group facilitator needs to lead a small group with confidence, maturity, and a proven dedication to working with individuals of all ages facing developmental disabilities, behavioral disorders, and different functioning levels.
Day program has a variety of groups, each with a unique focus. The facilitator should have broad knowledge to effectively work with our diverse population.
Work Setting: Working with individuals of all ages in a community-based day program setting.
Target Groups or Residents: Our services support individuals of all ages, genders, and abilities, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, and those with disabilities such as deafness/hard of hearing, blindness/visual impairment, intellectual, learning, and mental health disabilities.
Daily Responsibilities:
Provide daily living support to individuals with special needs
Evaluate resident's skills and development needs
Conflict resolution
Supervise resident day program activities
Administering medication according to the Connections day program policy.
Implement behavior management programs
Organizing and coordinating with other groups for special events
Coordinate with social services and healthcare providers
Develop intervention models and outcome measures
Maintain program statistics for evaluation and research
Assist in evaluating treatment program effectiveness

Essential Skills: Reading, writing, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, job planning, organization, and leading small groups.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of study in a related subject field (Developmental Service Worker, Community Service Worker, Psychology, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Nursing, Criminology, etc.) or least 2 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
During the initial six-month probation, all employees will undergo evaluations. Successful completion leads to promotion to regular status. Facilitators will receive annual performance appraisals and are expected to adhere to job description requirements and responsibilities.
