Housekeeping Supervisor - Seasonal premium of $1.50/hr
Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Rooms Operations, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and service standards throughout the resort in accordance with JW Marriott brand standards and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) expectations. This role provides leadership and support to the Housekeeping team through effective scheduling, training, coaching, and quality assurance while fostering a culture of service excellence. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical role in creating memorable guest experiences by maintaining impeccable guest room and public area standards, responding to guest needs with urgency and professionalism, and supporting associate engagement and development.
Accountabilities
- Lead daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas meet JW Marriott and LQA cleanliness, presentation, and service standards
- Conduct detailed room inspections and provide coaching and feedback to associates to ensure consistent quality and attention to detail
- Create daily room assignments and staffing plans based on occupancy levels, operational priorities, and guest needs
- Schedule associates effectively and administer payroll in accordance with resort policies and labor guidelines
- Deliver ongoing training, coaching, and development to associates, reinforcing departmental procedures, service expectations, and luxury hospitality standards
- Build a culture of accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement through regular communication and performance feedback
- Respond professionally and efficiently to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities, ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty
- Collaborate closely with Front Office and other operational departments to prioritize room readiness and support a seamless guest arrival experience
- Assist in achieving departmental goals related to guest satisfaction, quality assurance scores, productivity, and associate engagement
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage departmental resources to ensure operational effectiveness
- Support initiatives designed to improve guest satisfaction scores, operational efficiency, and overall department performance
- Ensure all associates understand and consistently follow grooming standards, uniform requirements, and professional appearance expectations
- Foster meaningful guest interactions by encouraging associates to demonstrate genuine, anticipatory, and personalized service
- Maintain accurate departmental documentation, reports, and records as required
- Actively participate in departmental and resort meetings, contributing ideas for continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment through active participation in health and safety programs
- Adhere to all environmental policies, sustainability initiatives, and responsible operational practices
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–4 years of housekeeping experience, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, or hospitality environment
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, quality assurance processes, and luxury service standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining professionalism under pressure
- Strong guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage guest concerns and service recovery situations
- Experience scheduling associates, managing labor resources, and supporting payroll administration
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Professional presentation and demeanor consistent with a luxury hospitality environment
- Ability to build positive relationships with guests, associates, and cross-functional teams while delivering service in accordance with JW Marriott and LQA standards
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on operational requirements
- Required to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and move throughout the resort for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance
- Work performed in a dynamic hospitality environment requiring frequent interaction with guests and associates
