Job description:
Hiring: Sheet Metal TIG Welder
Location: Pickering, ON Shift: 3:30 pm to 1:30 am Afternoon shift
Wage: $20–$30 per hour(Based on experience)
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in TIG welding (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding – GTAW), with a strong focus on sheet metal fabrication.
- Demonstrated expertise in executing precise welds on thin-gauge materials (under 1/8 inch), such as stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum.
- Proficient in tack welding and independently assembling components with little to no supervision.
- Capable of reading blueprints.
- Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel sheet metal
- Weld thin-gauge materials with minimal distortion and high cosmetic standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Set up welding equipment and adjust settings for optimal performance
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble sheet metal components
- Inspect finished welds to ensure quality standards are met
- Grind, polish, and finish welds as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety procedures and company welding standards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of TIG welding experience (sheet metal preferred)
- Experience welding thin-gauge materials (16–24 gauge or thinner)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication measurements
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Familiarity with press brakes, shears, or other fabrication equipment
