Position Title: Hazardous Waste Technician Level 1
Role Type: Permanent Position (Camp/FIFO provided)
Location: IOL Kearl, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off; 11.5-hour day shifts

Operate Skid Steer and Forklift and aerosol crusher as required.
Palletize batteries for shipment and Assist client drop offs.
Escort and spot vehicles safely into various locations around the site and support the hazardous waste technician level 2.
Create hazardous waste container labels as per Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) standards.
Prepare containers for shipment as per the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations standards.
Operate the filter crusher as required.
Assist with bulking and properly separate hazardous waste.
Notify Supervision of any safety concerns, incidents, and/or repairs.
Complete Near Miss cards and Acden KPI as assigned.
Complete and maintain daily Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA), and submit to supervisor as required.
Monitor inventory levels of products in the laydown.
Maintain laydown and housekeeping of common areas as required.
Perform general labourer and other duties as assigned that would fulfill the demands of the role.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a clean abstract that demonstrates a pattern of safe driving behaviour are required.
Two or more years of labour experience and the ability to perform intensive duties as required.
Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO), OSSA BSO Certificate, or a combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional certificates are required.
Successfully obtain clearance on mandatory pre-employment drug, alcohol, hearing, mask fit, and physical abilities testing.
Eligible to work at all Oil Sand sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is required.
Physically fit to perform all necessary duties of the job.
Skid Steer and Forklift experience is considered a strong asset
Hazardous waste experience is preferred.
HAZWOPER Technician course is considered an asset.
