We are seeking a new team member that enjoys a fast-paced environment and is reliable, pro-active, that also has excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
o Solicit and negotiate Ocean Export rates with shipping lines
o Set up/manage allocation and apply for ad-hoc space with shipping lines
o Communicate with sales to understand customer requirement then prepare quotation
o Prepare quotation on regular and ad-hoc basis
o Liaise with overseas agents to destination charges if needed
o Adopt company guidelines
o Other duties as assigned by Manager
Skills required:
o Minimum of 2 years ocean pricing experience in freight forwarding industry
o Understand carrier’s service and routing
o Understand contract pricing structures
o Knowledge in shipping is preferred
o Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
o Good understanding of carriers’ up-to-date pricing information
o Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy
o Time management and organizational skills
o Ability to work under pressure
o Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
o Professional phone etiquette
o Knowledge of Cargowise will be an asset
o Knowledge of CargoSphere an advantage
