Position Overview
Bigfoot Rubber Paving Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Rubber Paver / Laborer to join our growing crew.
This role combines both leadership responsibilities and hands-on work in the rubber paving industry. The successful candidate will work alongside crew members while helping oversee projects and maintain high-quality workmanship.
Previous experience in rubber paving is considered a strong asset. However, we are willing to train candidates who have a minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete flat work and demonstrate a willingness to learn our style of rubber paving installation.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, positive, patient when working with others, and able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements, timelines, and specifications
- Assist in planning manpower, materials, and equipment required for projects
- Work alongside crew members on residential and commercial rubber paving projects
- Assign tasks and provide guidance, instruction, and training to crew members
- Perform rubber paving installation including site preparation, surface leveling, mixing materials, application, compacting, and finishing work
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards
- Monitor job site safety and enforce safe work practices
- Conduct regular inspections and address deficiencies as required
- Communicate project updates and progress with management
- Maintain accurate records of hours, materials, and project progress
- Help mentor and develop crew members while promoting a positive team environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve job site issues efficiently and professionally
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in rubber paving OR concrete flat work
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisor or lead role
- Willingness to learn and adapt to Bigfoot Rubber Paving’s installation methods
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Patience and willingness to teach crew members
- Ability to remain calm and even-tempered under stressful situations
- Valid Alberta driver’s licence required
- Clean driver’s abstract is a must
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy materials
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required
Working Conditions
This is a physically demanding position involving lifting, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
