Agway Metals Inc, a Saint-Gobain company, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance Department and oversee the preventative maintenance program for the Brampton and Oakville operations. Job Summary
Reporting to our Brampton Plant Manager, with dotted line reporting to Oakville Plant Manager, this role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, coordinating contractors, supporting selected CAPEX projects, and driving machine improvements that enhance quality and plant performance.
Job Duties
- Cultivate a work environment committed to the health, safety, and wellness of all employees, and ensure safe work practices are followed;
- Lead the Maintenance Department and provide maintenance oversight for the Brampton and Oakville facilities.
- Accountable for safe maintenance activities. Will follow, teach and improve safety systems and procedures to employees and contractors, such as LOTO, permits to work, safety audits, etc.
- Oversee timely completion of breakdown root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation (EWO). Support and spread the use of WCM tools within the department.
- Develop, manage, and improve the preventative maintenance program to support equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Supervise, coach, and support direct reports while setting priorities and monitoring performance.
- Coordinate internal maintenance activities and manage external mechanical and electrical contractors.
- Support selected CAPEX projects, including planning, execution, contractor coordination, and follow-up.
- Identify and implement equipment and machine improvements that enhance quality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Partner with the production team to resolve equipment-related issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure maintenance records, work orders, and related documentation are accurate and current.
- Provide support during shutdowns, breakdowns, or urgent after-hours maintenance needs as required.
- Assures good housekeeping practice following 5S systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering;
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance leadership role within an industrial or manufacturing environment;
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and maintenance planning;
- Experience managing external contractors, including electrical contractors;
- Exposure to CAPEX projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives;
- Strong technical understanding of industrial equipment and plant systems;
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead employees;
- Ability to delegate effectively, set clear expectations, and monitor progress of direct reports;
- Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills;
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative, strategic solutions;
- Demonstrated health and safety leadership;
- Experience with change management, continuous improvement, and decision‑making;
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills;
- Solid project management capability with a results‑oriented mindset;
- High level of adaptability and strategic thinking.
Working Conditions
This role is based primarily in a manufacturing environment and requires regular time on the plant floor. Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and changing temperatures is expected. Some evening, weekend, or after-hours work may be required based on operational or project needs.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay range for this position is $90 500 to $115 000 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is discretionary.
