Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Long Haul Truck Driver for flatbed to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a good understanding of heavy equipment operation, and the ability to manage freight logistics. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism. The pay will be 65 cents per mile and the driver will be paid extra for tarping.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks across long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle operational readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues during transit
- Follow company policies on safety procedures and compliance with transportation regulations
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, preferably with long-haul routes
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently over extended periods and manage time effectively
- Physical capability to load/unload freight, lift heavy items when necessary, and perform duties requiring standing or walking for long durations

Pay: $85,000.00-$153,397.50 per year
