Duties will include but not limited to the following:
- Machine operating, filling machine operating, CIP duties, shipping department duties, cheese room duties, blending/pasteurizing, mix making and milk receiving.
- Performing pre-operational quality and safety checks before starting production lines
- Performing pre-operational start-up checks such as stocking packaging, cardboard, plastic films, glue
- Operating equipment according to operating procedures in order to achieve the daily production target
- Supplying all pertinent documents and reports, as may be required by management or the government, in an accurate and legible format.
- Ensuring that all products packaged meet or exceed company and government standards for quality and composition
- Responsible for changeovers and cleaning of equipment
- Equipment checks for malfunctions and proper sanitation and taking appropriate corrective action
- Clean-up and sanitation of tanks or lines that are selected to be cleaned
- Making suggestions and promote best practices
- Ensuring compliance with GMP, Food Safety, SOPs, OHSA and other pertinent policies, procedures and legislation
- Performing any other duties as directed by management personnel.
- Supporting health and safety programs
Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in a food related industrial plant
- Must be able to achieve a working knowledge of production, housekeeping, sanitation
- Physically able to lift >20 kg and frequently push or pull >70 kg with frequent lifting and bending
- Must be able to perform physical job demands according to body mechanics outlined in the ergonomic training
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team-based environment
- Must be proactive to new ideas and promoting continuous improvements
- Ability to properly communicate any issues or new ideas
- Professional attitude and demonstrated courtesy to others
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, and reliable
- Must be able to organise and adjust to whatever changes may occur during your shift
- Available for weekend overtime as production demands require
- Be flexible as shifts will change with proper notice
- Must learn and use new procedures and knowledge when introduced
- Knowledge of HACCP and housekeeping an asset
- Duties may be reassigned due to sickness, vacation, compensation or absenteeism
Shifts: Hours and days will vary (can be five 8’s or four 10’s), DAY OR NIGHT
