Job Summary
We’re looking for positive people with strong work ethics who want to help us create a happy and healthy environment in an airport restaurant. Servers are responsible for providing warm, professional, attentive service. We expect our servers to enhance the guest experience by making suggestions and promoting menu items. We’re looking for individuals who can provide superb service while keeping their sections clean and organized. Our ideal candidates will have a pleasant demeanor, strong communication skills, an ability to work under pressure, and an ability to multitask alongside a team. Server jobs will involve shift work. Candidates must be available from morning to evening, with a potential need for overnight availability. Potential applicants should also must be able to obtain a security clearance through Transport Canada.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using a POS system
- Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring presentation quality
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering and cash handling procedures
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including tables, utensils, and service stations
- Assist with food preparation as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines
- Manage multiple tables efficiently through effective time management skills
- Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Follow all sanitation and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred, especially with food handling and serving roles
- Familiarity with POS systems such as TouchBistro is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Excellent time management abilities to handle busy service periods effectively
- Basic math skills for cashiering and handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience or hospitality background is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and revenue
