Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and childcare, with the ability to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment for young children. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly valued to support diverse learning needs. Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support children's individual needs and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and other relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing inclusive care.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage classroom resources efficiently and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Exhibit leadership qualities by guiding assistant staff or volunteers when necessary.
- Uphold health and safety regulations in accordance with licensing requirements and best practices.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE).
- Proven experience working with children in classroom settings; experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to support team collaboration and mentorship roles.
- Compassionate approach to childcare with a focus on inclusive practices that respect diverse backgrounds and needs.
