Kennel Attendant – Mackenzie Boarding Kennels
Mackenzie Boarding Kennels is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. If you love dogs and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs staying at the kennel.
- Feed and provide fresh water according to each dog's individual care instructions.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, food and water dishes, and common areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Monitor the health, behaviour, and overall well-being of dogs and report any concerns.
- Supervise and participate in individual and group exercise and enrichment activities.
- Administer medications as directed and maintain accurate care records.
- Assist with client drop-offs and pick-ups while providing friendly customer service.
- Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and well maintained.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to provide exceptional care for every dog.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with dogs or other animals is considered an asset but is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Comfortable handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Positive attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive tasks including standing, walking, bending, and cleaning throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and statutory holidays, as these are our busiest times.
Additional Requirements
- A valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle are required.
- Mackenzie Boarding Kennels is located near the Fort McMurray Airport and is not serviced by public transportation. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
