Position Summary: The shipper will provide intermediation between the department and its suppliers and will handle the incoming shipments accurately in accordance with the standardized procedures. He will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of outgoing shipments to customers and resolving any discrepancies related to shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities:
· Load and unload from trucks
· Coordinate packing and shipping of all goods
· Maintain accurate inventory - stored, incoming and outgoing
· Ship and receive all parts and materials as required. Resolve issues related to shipments, if any, by contacting the suppliers
· Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments
· Order supplies when necessary and keep a track of inventory counts
· Ensure optimal space utilization and accessibility of the receiving area by organizing and maintaining it.
· Perform general housekeeping tasks for the designated area.
· Other duties like order truck pickups, maintain forklift and shipping area equipment.
Education/skills & abilities:
· Grade 12 or equivalent
· Minimum 3 years hands on experience in a related field
· Basic computer skills
· High sense of urgency is required
· Knowledge of Occupational health and Safety is a must
· Must have a Valid Forklift License
· Experience in SAP system is preferred
Working conditions: Lifting, Pushing, Standing, exposure to varying temperatures on the shop floor.
Work hours: 6:55am – 2:55pm
