Job Summary
Tamim Academy of Vancouver is seeking an experienced and dedicated Grade 3 & 4 Math Teacher with expertise in the Think Math! program and a strong understanding of Jewish culture, traditions, and values. The successful candidate will be passionate about mathematics instruction and committed to fostering academic excellence in a warm and supportive Jewish learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons for students in Grades 3 and 4.
- Implement the Think Math! curriculum effectively, promoting conceptual understanding and critical thinking.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages confidence, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- Integrate Jewish values and cultural awareness into classroom interactions and school life where appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student success.
- Participate in school events, assemblies, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching elementary mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience using the Think Math! program.
- Previous experience working in a Jewish school, synagogue educational program, Hebrew school, or Jewish community setting.
- Strong knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, holidays, and values.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching Grades 3 and/or 4.
- Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
- Strong understanding of BC Curriculum expectations and assessment practices.
