Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety standards, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role is integral to maintaining high-quality service, ensuring food safety compliance, and supervising team members during shifts. Previous restaurant management or supervising experience, along with a background in the food industry, is highly preferred. The Shift Leader will serve as a key point of contact for staff and customers, fostering a positive and efficient work atmosphere.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and serving processes to meet quality standards
- Ensure adherence to food safety and handling protocols in compliance with health regulations
- Lead, motivate, and train team members to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high performance standards
- Manage customer interactions to resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas
- Support staff in busy periods, including serving customers when necessary
- Uphold restaurant policies related to food safety, hospitality, and operational procedures
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling and reporting
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within the food service or restaurant industry
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
- Experience in restaurant management or leadership roles preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse situations professionally
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, serving procedures, and hospitality standards
- Barista experience or similar beverage service background is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team development and operational excellence
- Driver license needed
