About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Mechanical & Production Support Engineer to join our growing engineering and production team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building, problem-solving, and working directly with physical products. You will support both our mechanical and electrical engineering teams while gaining valuable experience in product development, prototyping, manufacturing, and production processes.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
Responsibilities
- Support mechanical, electrical, and production team leads with daily operations and engineering tasks
- Assist with the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electromechanical products and components
- Perform hands-on mechanical assembly with precision and attention to detail
- Support production builds of intelligent digital power tools and advanced devices
- Work with CAD software such as SolidWorks for design updates, modifications, and engineering support
- Operate and maintain 3D printers and support rapid prototyping activities
- Assist with prototype development, testing, validation, and product improvements
- Help create and maintain engineering documentation, assembly procedures, and production workflows
- Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes and product quality
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to meet project timelines
- Maintain organized work areas and follow company quality and safety procedures
- Take on multiple responsibilities in a fast-moving startup environment
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 1 year of experience using SolidWorks
- Portfolio of personal, academic, or professional engineering projects required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills
- Experience assembling mechanical or electromechanical systems
- Experience with 3D printing, prototyping, and engineering tools
- Comfortable using hand tools and working directly with physical components
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly
- Strong desire to learn across multiple engineering disciplines
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take initiative
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse engineering team
Nice to Have
- Experience with electronics assembly or basic electrical troubleshooting
- Experience working in manufacturing, production, or product development environments
- Familiarity with testing equipment, quality control processes, or automation
- Experience building personal engineering projects, robotics, electronics, tools, or mechanical systems

Position Details
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Onsite – Burnaby, BC
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
