RiverHouse Restaurant at Northern Lights is the only restaurant on the river. Guests from all over the world join us in experiencing the wild offerings of the North, both in dining and experience.
Position Description:
As Kitchen Supervisor with RiverHouse Restaurant, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our guest experience. Your personal attention and knowledge of our food offerings and wines makes our guests feel unique and valued. Working closely with the Head Chef and Director of Services, this position collaborates and innovates to ensure the highest quality product for our guests in our full service restaurant. As a member of our Culinary Team, we require candidates that are flexible, able and willing to adapt to quickly changing conditions and needs of the business, while maintaining a positive attitude in our guest-facing kitchen. This position has the potential for personal and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook and service all food for our RiverHouse Restaurant menus according to our recipes and standards
- Communicate effectively with members of the Front of House team to ensure the best service and products reach our guests.
- Maintenance of the cleanliness and organization of all work areas and storage areas
- Consistently offering a warm and approachable service to curious guests in our open kitchen.
- Maintaining up-to-date order and prep lists
- Accurate prep of menu items based on confirmed expected traffic.
- Consistent maintenance of the dish area, servicing dishes consistently, and leaving the area in sparkling shape.
- Using a keen awareness of safe and sanitary methods for preparing foods based on Food Safe methods and common sense.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to meet physical needs of the position; able to lift 50 lbs frequently and stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ideally 2 years of supervisory culinary experience, however we are willing to work with candidates with less experience, but the right attitude. Diploma or Red Seal Apprentices or Journeypersons are considered major assets, and may be eligible for a supervisory role.
- Must have valid BC Driver's License.
- Highly responsible and reliable working under minimal supervision
- Ability to keep a level head in fast-paced rushes.
- Proven organizational skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Experience:
- Culinary: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
