ABOUT THE JOB
The Fabricator/Welder at Sparta Manufacturing plays a key role in producing high-quality metal products by fabricating, fitting, and welding components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This hands-on position requires strong welding and metal fabrication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Working as part of a collaborative production team, the Fabricator/Welder will operate various fabrication equipment, perform quality inspections, and contribute to the efficient completion of projects while ensuring all work meets Sparta Manufacturing's standards for craftsmanship, reliability, and customer satisfaction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Read and interpret blueprints.
· Fabricate and weld metal components and structures.
· Perform all-position FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and demonstrate proficiency in GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) processes.
· Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication.
· Inspect completed welds and fabricated products to ensure quality standards are met.
· Operate fabrication equipment, including saws, grinders, presses, and other metalworking tools.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
· Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
· Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
· Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication processes.
· Ability to safely operate fabrication and welding equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
· Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
· CWB certification is required
· Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel fabrication.
· Forklift or overhead crane experience.
· Previous experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
