Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Foreman to lead landscape construction crews across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience with landscape construction, and the ability to read and interpret landscape blueprints. This position requires someone who can effectively manage a crew, operate heavy equipment, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise landscape construction crews on residential and commercial projects.
- Read, interpret, and execute landscape plans and blueprint drawings.
- Coordinate daily job site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Operate and oversee the use of skid steers, mini excavators, and other landscape equipment.
- Train, mentor, and support crew members while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform site layout, grading, excavation, and installation of landscape features.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and crew members.
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Landscape Foreman or in a landscape crew leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and leading a landscape construction crew.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret blueprint drawings.
- Experience operating skid steers and mini excavators.
- Valid G Class Driver's Licence with a clean driving record and driver's abstract.
- Reliable vehicle for transportation to the pickup location.
- Must provide and maintain your own hand tools.
- Experience operating additional heavy equipment is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
Work Schedule
- Pickup Location: Markham, ON
- Service Area: Greater Toronto Area, including projects from Niagara to Oshawa.
- Start Time: 7:00 a.m.
- Hours may extend beyond 7:00 p.m. depending on project requirements and weather conditions.
