Overview
We are seeking a skilled JM or Registered 2nd or a 3rd year Apprentice who can perform commercial ductwork. The right candidate should know how to do spiral, ductwork, RTUs, MAU, Black Iron for commercial kitchen hood and exhaust system.
Duties
- Commercial tenant improvement projects to run spiral or rectangular ductwork for the RTUs as per approved mechanical drawings.
- JM should know the codes pertaining to fire dampers and fire & smoke dampers.
- Candidate should have experience with make up air unit installation and wall mounted and roof mounted exhaust fans.
- Should have knowledge and experience of NFPA-96 for commercial kitchen hood installation.
- Should have experience and knowledge of black iron ductwork measure out, order, install and weld.
- Should have experience in installing 3M fire wrap, banding, access panels etc.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects
- Perform cutting/ welding and fabrication tasks as needed to modify or create custom sheet metal parts
- Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficiency and safety
- Experience in the installation of ductwork, vents, and other sheet metal assemblies in commercial or industrial settings
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing and electrical teams during complex projects
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or similar role within construction, HVAC, or maintenance environments
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction and mechanical work environments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings

Pay: $30.00-$47.20 per hour
